LightCode support
Send a message with light. Read Morse code, build your skills, and keep an SOS signal within reach.
Three focused pages
Transmit previews your text and sends it through the rear torch. Practice includes a Morse-to-English decoder, quizzes and the alphabet reference. SOS sends a continuous distress signal after a visible 1.2-second hold.
Common questions
Why is the physical light not flashing?
Check Simulation mode on the Transmit page. Simulation only displays light states on screen. Actual light needs a compatible iPhone with an available rear torch. The torch can be temporarily unavailable because of temperature or another camera function. Wait for the device to cool naturally and try again.
How do I stop a signal?
Tap the red Stop control. It is available on Transmit and SOS, and appears on Practice while a transmission is active. Leaving the foreground or locking the iPhone also stops transmission. Returning to the app does not restart it.
How does the SOS hold work?
Press and hold for 1.2 seconds. The fill and percentage show progress; release early to cancel. Activation is confirmed on screen and by a haptic response on supported devices. SOS repeats ...---... with a fixed 1.4-second pause between groups.
What text can I transmit?
English letters, digits, spaces and Chinese are supported. Chinese is converted to unaccented pinyin; always check the actual text before transmitting. Unsupported characters are listed and prevent transmission. Messages are limited to 500 characters.
How do I enter Morse in Practice?
Use a dot . and a dash -. Separate letters with spaces and words with /. For example, ... --- ... becomes SOS. Invalid groups are shown as question marks with a warning. Practice does not start a torch task.
Does LightCode work offline or need an account?
Transmission and practice work offline. There is no app account, advertising, tracking or in-app subscription. Support email and opening these web pages require a connection. App Store purchases and refunds are handled by Apple.
How do I report a problem?
Email helloworld@nookira.com with your app version, iPhone model, iOS version, what happened and the steps to reproduce it. Share screenshots only if you want to; avoid including private message text.
Compatibility
LightCode requires iOS 17 or later. Physical light output requires an available rear torch. Simulator testing cannot establish real torch timing or thermal behavior.
